"Before the first word was written, there was the Embermark—a shape formed not of ink, but of intention. It appeared only to those who had felt deeply, suffered silently, and risen anew. The Emberborn do not follow stories. They live within them. The Embermark is not a symbol... it is a doorway."

In the world of Velorynth, where reality bends to the written word, all who ascend beyond the veil are given a choice to bear the Embermark. These rare souls are not marked by flame or ink, but by resonance—a deep, invisible harmony between their spirit and the living fabric of Velorynth itself.

This harmony is revealed through the Embermark—a mystical sigil found on the Vellastone Obelisk in the very depths of the Scripture Nexus. The Vellastone Obelisk is a towering, obsidian spire veined with molten gold and transformative ink. Etched upon its sides are a single, glowing Embermark and all the names of those who have chosen to accept its offerings.

When one is called, they descend into the heart of the Scripture Nexus and find their way to the Hall of Script. At the deepest layer of the Hall of Script, one will find the Vellastone Obelisk. Standing before it, they may press their palm upon the Embermark. If the Obelisk accepts, the Embermark will ignite, burning truth into the recipient. There shall be no pain, only alteration of mind. Once granted, their name shall be etched on the Codex of Resonance—a living tome of all members of the Four Orders, and burned into the Vellastone Obelisk itself, marking their eternal allegiance.

The Embermark represents truth, order, and enlightenment. It binds to and protects the souls it lives within. It grants passage into sacred sanctums, opens sealed doorways, and grants the bearer the ability to alter all aspects Velorynth. But it also demands balance.

It is said the Embermark is a fragment of the First Word, splintered from the original symbol that wrote Velorynth into creation. As long as Emberborn walk and protect the lands of Velorynth, the forgotten world shall remain alive and breathing.

But there must always be at least one true Emberborn in Velorynth. Because if the last Emberborn heart fades... the quill to the Codex of Resonance will snap, the ink within its pages will vanish, the Vellastone Obelisk will crumble, and Velorynth will fall silent.
